is a dance choreographer, filmmaker, performer, educator and the artistic director of
Rosie Trump | With or Without Dance. Established in 2008 in the Los Angeles area, Rosie Trump | WoW Dance is a pick up company with a hybrid practice in dance and video media. Trump’s work stems from an interest in representations of femininity, domesticity, identity and intimacy.
Trump’s choreography and films have been presented regionally throughout California and the Northeastern and Southern United States. Recently, her work was produced by the Houston Fringe Festival, the Big Range Dance Festival, Project 21 at Cal State San Bernardino and by Anatomy Riot in Los Angeles. As a performer, Trump has danced for Alison Bory, Ann Carlson, Frame Dance Productions, Stephen Koplowitz and April Rhodes, Ursula Payne, Hannah Schwadron, Leslie Scates and Sue Roginski. She is a Houston dance critic and the editor of the dance blog Reading the Dance.
Trump holds a BA in dance from Slippery Rock University and a MFA in Experimental Dance Choreography from UC Riverside. She is a three-time recipient of the Gluck Fellowship of the Arts and recently received a Special Initiatives Grant from the Houston Arts Alliance. Her teaching credits include Seton Hill University and Mt. San Jacinto College. Currently, she is the Dance Program Director at Rice University and the Artistic Director of the Rice Dance Theatre. Trump is the founder and curator of the Third Coast Dance Film Festival.
