is a dance choreographer, filmmaker, performer, educator and the artistic director of Rosie Trump | With or Without Dance. With a hybrid artistic practice, Trump’s work navigates the creative fusion between dance and media. Her work examines subject matter such as representations of femininity, domesticity, identity and intimacy.
She has presented her choreography and films regionally throughout Southern California and the Northeastern United States. Recently, her work was presented by Big Range Dance Festival in Houston, Project 21 at Cal State San Bernardino, and by Anatomy Riot in Los Angeles, CA. As a performer, Trump has danced for Alison Bory, Ann Carlson, Stephen Koplowitz and April Rhodes, Ursula Payne, Hannah Schwadron, and Sue Roginski. She is the editor of the dance blog Reading the Dance.
Originally from Pittsburgh, Trump graduated from Slippery Rock University Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Dance. Trump received a MFA in Experimental Dance Choreography from UC Riverside in 2007 where she was a three-time recipient of the Gluck Fellowship of the Arts and a recipient of the Humanities Graduate Student Research Grant. She has taught dance at Seton Hill University and Mt. San Jacinto College. Currently, she is the Assistant Director of the Rice University dance program and the Artistic Director of the Rice University Dance Theater.
